On April 22, 2010, the TQ locations Gut Delling and Wetter an der Ruhr invited 18 girls to the Girls’ Day. This nationwide action day serves to encourage girls to learn a technical profession. TQ arranged a varied program with interesting practical exercises for the schoolgirls.
The girls started the day learning about TQ’s range of services and the different options for vocational training and future career opportunities. After a short training in electronics and soldering, the girls were ready to manufacture an electronic subassembly. At both locations, the students in grade 7 to 10 enjoyed the practical exercise with great enthusiasm and at the end of the action day, they could take a blinking Smiley back home.
At the head quarters in Gut Delling/Seefeld, TQ trains industrial clerks and electronics technicians for devices and systems. For the start of the apprenticeship in September 2010, there is still one open apprenticeship position as an electronics technician. Those who are interested should submit their application documents as soon as possible (TQ-Systems GmbH, attn. Helmut Eberle, Gut Delling, Mühlstraße 2, 82229 Seefeld; helmut.eberle tqs.de). The positions for industrial clerks are already taken for 2010. Applications for an apprenticeship beginning in September 2011 are possible for both professions as of July 2010.
At the plant Wetter an der Ruhr, TQ offers vocational training as a mechatronics technician. This TQ location has 60 employees and produces electronic subassemblies and systems. Moreover, this plant is specialized in the construction of complex switch cabinets which control, for example, large industrial cranes. This is an ideal field for mechatronics technicians who combine the knowledge of mechanical and electrical technicians.
